​Ximena Gonzalez

My name is Ximena Gonzalez and I am from Guatemala. I moved to Knoxville four years ago. In Guatemala, I worked as a co-teacher and educational coordinator in an inclusive school for students with disabilities and from high-poverty-risk areas. Also,
I worked as a music therapy teacher. Currently, I am part of the master's degree in Special Education job-embedded program at the University of Tennessee. I teach special education at Beaumont Magnet Academy. Someday I would like to work toward better special education policies that actually will make a positive impact on the education system and communities.
