Taylor Kirk

​Taylor Kirk has been working in the field of education for the last six years. Throughout her time in education, Taylor has occupied the public, charter, and private sector, teaching ELA to grades 5-12. She loves teaching ELA because it allows students the opportunity to travel to new worlds without ever having to purchase a plane ticket. In addition to having a passion for teaching ELA, she is adamant about student ownership and voice. Taylor got into education because she worked within multiple preschool settings throughout her undergraduate career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During that time, she noticed a stark difference between the opportunities being offered to white and affluent students in comparison to those extended to disenfranchised populations. In order to fight against that discrepancy, Taylor joined Teach For America Memphis immediately following graduation.
