Anita SpannAnita B.Spann is a native of Celina, TN where her parents were the first post-de-segregation African-American school teachers in a predominantly rural school district. Her mother in fact began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse. She has lived in Murfreesboro, TN and taught with the Murfreesboro City School district for 24 years. Anita is a graduate of Columbia State Community College where she obtained her Associate's Degree. She also is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, her Masters in Health, Physical Recreation, and Educational Science, and her Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Anita also holds an Administrative Licensure from Bethel University. She has taught 1st and 2nd grades as well as coached high school and elementary school basketball. Anita is active at her church and active in the Rutherford County community currently serving as the local graduate chapter president of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Anita strives to continually grow as a professional leader and learner in order to inspire others that she encounters each and every day.
