TRAINING
Training is critical to the effectiveness of our organization. A training session is scheduled for each monthly meeting and weekly net. We are privileged to have several associates who work professionally with Public Service organizations. They frequently provide TNECA volunteers with exceptional training and are able to share actual experiences with us. In addition, exercises are conducted throughout the year to reinforce the training as well as provide an opportunity to identify deficiencies.
As an example: Roane County takes Emergency Communications very seriously. Its DEC (Division of Emergency Communications) conducts training on a regular basis and works hard to cover all relevant topics. The volunteers are trained to proficiently operate all of the radio equipment in the EOC. This includes the public service radios. In a recent session, Bill Farnham provided "hands-on" training for one of the more frequently used radios. The objective of all of his training is to maintain a high level of readiness.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING
FEMA, TEMA and Red Cross training courses are available to our group. Please take advantage of these important training opportunities. Every volunteer is required to complete IS-100, IS-200 and IS-700 and IS-800b as well as obtain EmComm Level I Certification. If you have any questions about any of the courses please contact any of the officers.
The First Aid and CPR courses are now available "On-Line" and can be completed at on your own schedule and at your own pace.
