EmCom training and certification for each volunteer in the TNECA is important to the overall effectiveness of the organization.  Certification Exams are conducted frequently throughout TN.  They are occasionally offered at some of the area Hamfests.

In addition, we have several Certification Examiners in Cumberland County.  Self Study combined with our training sessions should prepare you for certification.  If you are ready to take an EmCom exam (any level) please contact Paul (WO4U) and an exam session will be scheduled.

Our local EmCom Exam sessions are held at the Hilltoppers Building (same location as our monthly meetings).  Once a session has been scheduled it will be posted on this web site as well as at www.arrl.org.  These exam sessions are open to anyone from anywhere.  Many Public Service agencies consider EmCom Certification to be of significant value to their personnel and have encouraged their personnel to complete the certification process.  You are welcome to take the exams whether you hold a valid FCC radio license or not.

Please note that all exams will be based on the current Third Edition of the manuals.  All three manuals have been revised and provide an excellent reference in you library.

License Exams

FCC License Exam Sessions are conducted in and around Cumberland County.  When a session has been scheduled it will be posted on this Web Site.

To be USEFUL, we MUST be READY.
To be READY, we MUST be TRAINED.
To be TRAINED, we MUST plan AHEAD.
