Monthly Meetings

TNECA normally meets the third Thursday of each month, beginning at 7:30 PM (Central Time), at the Hilltoppers Building near the Crossville Center Mall.  Training programs are included at each of the monthly meetings.  The meetings are open to anyone interested in serving the public with Emergency Communications services. 

During a recent meeting we reviewed the scope, schedule, goals, scenario, and statistics concerning the TNECA/MARS/TEMA deployment exercise that was conducted at Montgomery Bell.  This exercise was a great success and everyone who participated did a great job.  Other similar exercises have taken place since which were even more successful.  Working together with our served agencies and providing a variety of well planned training has added new dimensions to advancing our level of preparedness. 

We began a series of "refresher" workshop sessions designed to strengthen our knowledge of the Incident Command System and National Incident Management System.  These sessions will continue over the next few months.  The key points will be included in all future exercises.

We have also covered the Who, What, When, Where and Why of Winlink 2000 (WL2K).  The WL2K network has become the national standard for EmCom digital traffic.  Several of our volunteers are already quite proficient using this service while others are in the process of installing the necessary equipment.  If you would like any assistance please contact Paul (WO4U).
