Christmas Parade - Bigger and Better than ever!

It took the work of many Elves to get all the decorations ready ...

but the cheering crowds made the effort very worthwhile!

TNECA was invited to demonstrate the Emergency Communications Center at the recent Global Amateur Radio Emergency Conference held in Huntsville AL.  Hundreds of people visited the ECC over a three day period.

The GAREC conference included representatives from all over the world.

A full scale Emergency Exercise included volunteers from TNECA, MARS, ARES and TEMA.  The team deployed to Montgomery Bell and operated under the Incident Command structure while working with several other agencies.  Training was provided for all participants using some of the very latest state-of-the-art equipment.  There was also plenty of hands-on opportunity to practice what was learned.  Personnel from 5 different states supported the exercise.  Hundreds of messages were processed using several modes of communications.  Numerous participants, who had been involved in many years of Emergency exercises, said "This was the most comprehensive and intense exercise we have ever supported".  Even with that said we all had a good time, learned a lot, experienced NO injuries and built some excellent relationships.

The recent 5K Leprechaun Run in Roane County was a great success.  Emergency Communications operators from Roane and Cumberland County worked together to provide the "eyes and ears" from start to finish along the route.  This was a CASA sponsored event and a first for this type of fundraiser in Roane County.

A fun time was had by all!

To be USEFUL, we MUST be READY.
To be READY, we MUST be TRAINED.
To be TRAINED, we MUST plan AHEAD.
